A few yellow cards didn't stop OHs winning for the 8th time this season!

Good evening to all,

This Saturday saw the mighty OH take on recently relegated Warlingham in the first of two bouts this season. The team arrived in good spirits, which was clearly shown by the bouncing atmosphere in the changing room and the intense, slick warm - up to follow.

The game started off with an opposing player dropping the ball from kick off, in which we knew it was time to capitalise early. And that we did, big boy Dave acrobatically dives over the line from a pick and go to put a solid 5 points on the board. Converted by Luke Wright. Following this, it was time to punish them even more with some splendid display of offloading from the captain himself, creating open space for Archie to dot the ball under the posts, 0 - 14 to OH.

It all seemed to be going to plan, until a handful of penalties and errors resulted in 2 early yellow cards, I won't name names (Sonny & Luke). It was time to dig deep in what I could only describe as one of the best defensive sets I have seen this season, resulting in a turn over 5 meters from our own line. However, this was quickly turned over due to my overreaction when celebrating (DOTD). The defense stuck strong and we managed to clear our lines not long after. Another incredible and controlled attack led to OH dotting down just before half time making it 0 - 19.

We knew the bonus point was within our reach so our attention turned to securing this. It was time to take full control. Not long after the second half a clattering run from Sonny and the chimney smoker himself (Tobi) with a strong pick and go added two more tries to the scoresheet. Not long after, I took a leaf out of Tobi's book and went over the line myself. The bonus point was secured, and now it was time to have a little fun.

Tries continued to follow, a hefty line hit by Tom Wright was created by some slick hands from the back line, and as much as he was running in treacle he managed to make it over the line. Not all was plain sailing as the man in the number 13 jersey (Joey Selim) added a further yellow card to our tally, from what I can only describe a good hit. Final try was scored by the conversion connoisseur himself with a dive in the corner, Luke Wright. Final score 0 - 48 to OH.

Big shout out to all the boys, one hell of a shift from all players. A main shout out to man of the match Archie Hancock who controlled the game impeccably with pinpoint accuracy throughout the game.

MOTM: Archie
DOTD: Jelly

Next up for the first team is a Home game match against Old Freemans. We aim to secure our 7th consecutive victory and I'm sure of a bonus point win.

P.S. Sorry if the timeline is slightly wrong. I love rugby.

Hearts & Wings,
Jelly
