OHs beat Met Police 2nd time round!

Well, well, well chaps.

I can only apologise for the severe delay in this being sent out. But as you can imagine, I lead a very busy lifestyle.

So Met Police, doesn’t need much said for this. Going into the final week before the game with having the b........ds not moving the game to the Friday evening so we could watch the game or an earlier game time, we knew this meant war. I mean do they even enjoy rugby?

The whole week building up to this game meant a lot to everyone participating. This was 2nd (Met Police) vs. 3rd (The boys in Blue). This was a game not to miss.

Unfortunately the seconds had their game cancelled which meant that the 2nd's players still available and raring to play/ train with the ones were given a chance to shine on the day.

Right from the bus dropping us off to walking through to the changing rooms, music blaring from the speakers, and Woody’s intense sweaty warm up, you knew there was a buzz. The warm up was a great way for us to show those Police boys what we had been working on since the last game, and introduce them to a couple of players, that had not faced them before. We bossed the warm up with the atmosphere being tense, but joyful as we knew that the sun’s out, some gun’s and this was definitely our day for the Big W.

Warm up done, heading into the changing rooms, having an inspirational speech by the big man himself Rob got our heads further into that game and closer to the first whistle.

Spectators in the grandstand shutting the home crowds woeful cheers helped us move forward with such steam. First whistle blows off, line speed to chase down the kick and enabled us to meet them right down the pitch to keep them at bay with our defence. With a try coming from the Mighty OH to steam us ahead making sure that we were in their face knowing we were not letting this game slide.

With some very Prosecco rugby, playing some great set plays, and great forward work, it messed up slightly with myself offloading at the complete wrong time as their centre slapped my hand and ball floated up for their steroid winger to run it into the posts.

With the rest of the first half still to go, we kept on trucking forward making sure that we were not going to lose this one for OH and get up to 2nd place.

Second half kicked off and a new energy steamed up through our feet into our lungs and heart enabling to run in some more tries. It was a real tester and especially towards the end of the second half, with a few penalties right on our 5m line. But when it mattered we kept going, to the point of 30 seconds to go. Turnover and boom, ball is out, we have won, and police lost. Mighty OH conquers again.

Post match report is that Met Police has complained that OHs had ringers!!
